“कोस कोस पर बदले पानी, चार कोस पर वाणी।”
“Every few miles, the water changes; every few miles more,
the dialect changes.”
India – The World’s Oldest Living Civilisation
with the Youngest Population!
India is where the world’s oldest living civilization thrives with the energy of the youngest population, creating a rich cultural tapestry renewed through diversity.
Languages and Beliefs
India’s diversity includes 22 official languages and thousands of dialects, carrying wisdom and stories of countless communities. As the birthplace of major religions and host to many faiths, India’s festivals and traditions—Diwali, Eid, Holi, Christmas, and local fairs—reflect a celebrated pluralism.
Arts and Crafts
Classical and folk arts flourish nationwide, such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kalbelia dance, and myriad tribal traditions. Visual arts from Madhubani paintings to Banarasi silks showcase aesthetic brilliance and support millions of artisans.
Traditions and Lived Culture
Oral traditions—epics, myths, folk songs—transmit values and history through generations. The joint family system fosters deep bonds, respect, and shared celebration. Every festival, cuisine, and ritual sustains a dynamic, living culture where spirituality is woven into daily life through communal rituals, pilgrimages, and adaptive traditions.
Embodying Delphic Ideals and Youth Focus
India’s unity in diversity mirrors the Delphic vision of harmony and peace through art. For 23 years, Delphics India has nurtured creativity and intercultural understanding, connecting artists and youth regionally and globally.
National Focus on Youth and Children
India’s Delphic Movement places paramount emphasis on youth and children by building platforms for artistic and cultural engagement, awareness, and opportunity. Moving forward, the Society’s major initiatives include the staging of:
-
National School Delphiads
-
National Youth Delphic Games
These landmark events will be hosted in culturally rich destinations, uniting all 36 States and Union Territories and transforming differences into an engine of national artistic synergy. Over 4,000 artists across 6 art categories—and numerous sub-disciplines—will join together on a common stage, opening new horizons for cultural exchange, talent recognition, and creative growth. This leap will unite India in diversity and celebrate every art and every voice as bridges to a harmonious future.
This synthesis of India’s heritage and Delphic ideals proves how the arts can unite, inspire, and sustain humanity’s highest aspirations.
Delphics India Network
India has been a member of the International Delphic Movement since 2002. It has participated in 4 of the 7 International Delphic Games and has had International representation since 2007.
Delphics India operates as a federation of these state councils, coordinating outreach, programming, and resources nationally while preserving state-level autonomy on well-defined subjects.
*Delphics Rajasthan is the first regional council created in the IDC network.
