International Delphic Movement

The International Scientific and Practical Conference (March 11-13, 1994, Russia, St. Petersburg, Russian Institute of Art History; on the revival of the Pythian Games was held in coordination with A.A. Sobchak, Mayor of St. Petersburg, and with the assistance of V.V. Putin, Vice Mayor of St. Petersburg, The conference was opened by I.I. Zemtsovsky, Deputy Director of the Russian Institute of Art History, Doctor of Art History. Christian Kirsch (Germany) took part in the Conference. During the Conference, the Report "Pythian Games in Delphi" was discussed by A.B. Sharnina, Candidate of Historical Sciences, A.I. Herzen St. Petersburg State University..
Initiation and Foundation (Berlin, Germany)

The International Delphic Council was formalised by nationals from 20 countries, spanning 5 Continents. A key role was played by Mr. J. Christian B. Kirsch, Ms. Adenike Oyagbola, Mr. Viktor Voronkov, Prof. Divina Bautista and senior colleagues.
Sharnina A.B. made a report "Pythian Games in Delphi" (December 15, 1994, Berlin, Germany) at the Conference on the creation of the International Delphic Council.

1994–1999

First Delphic World Congress & Executive Board Meeting:
Held in St. Petersburg, Russia. Patronage included Anatoli Sobchak (Mayor of St. Petersburg), Daniel Tarschys (Secretary General, Council of Europe), and Federico Mayor Zaragoza (Director General, UNESCO).
First National Delphic Council registered and started in Nigeria.
Second Amphictyony Board Meeting: Convened in Tokyo, Japan.
First Junior Delphic Games: Organized in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Second Delphic World Congress: Hosted in Tbilisi, Georgia with the Patronage by H.E. Eduard Shevardnadze (President of Georgia), Daniel Tarschys, and Federico Mayor Zaragoza.
Third Amphictyony Board Meeting & Third World Congress:
Held in Tbilisi, Georgia, and Athens, Greece. Supported by UNESCO and the Council of Europe.
Fourth Amphictyony Meeting: Convened in Athens and Delphi, Greece.
Extraordinary Delphic World Congress: Organized in Berlin, Germany.
First Delphic Games of the Modern Era: Staged in Moscow, Russia.
Patronage included Dr. Walter Schwimmer (Council of Europe), H.E. Vladimir Putin (President of Russia), and Alexei II (Patriarch of Moscow).

2000–2006

Successive congresses, board meetings, and Junior Delphic Games were hosted in Berlin, Düsseldorf (Germany) Baguio City (Philippines), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Kuching (Malaysia), and other locations.
Second Delphic Games: Held in Kuching, Malaysia.
Extraordinary Amphictyony Meeting: Convened in Berlin, Germany.

2007-2011

IX–X Amphictyony Meetings & Junior Delphic Games:
Hosted in Berlin, Baguio City, and Jeju, Republic of Korea.
Castalian Spring Water Ceremony: Conducted in Delphi, Greece.
III Delphic Games: Organized in Jeju, Republic of Korea @ 2009
Delphic Festival Launches and Art Movie Awards: Presented at ITB Berlin and in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Delphic World Culture Forum & Delphic Summits: Launched in Johannesburg, Delphi, and East London.
Delphic Festivals: Celebrated annually in Berlin and other venues.
IV Junior Delphic Games hosted in Johannesburg, South Africa @ 2011.
H.E Nelson Mandela became the Delphic Ambassador for the Youth

2021-2025

Revival of the movement after a devastating International Pandemic, beginning with Asia.
National Councils further empowered and the 1st formal Regional Delphic Council was created in Rajasthan India
XIV IDC Session & General Assembly hosted in 2021 to elect a new board @ Jaipur, Rajasthan, India
New Masterplan and re-structuring of the Global organisation undertaken.
Over 11 Regional Councils Created in India and last mile activities started.

The 27th, 28th, 29th Anniversaries were celebrated across councils
National Summits in India in 2022 @ Gurugram, India / Srinagar, Kashmir.
World’s first Regional Delphic Games in Rajasthan by Delphics Rajasthan @ 2023
International Delphics Culture Summit in Kolkata, India; in association with MASSART, UNESCO, Government of West Bengal & Techno India University @ 2023, attended by 200 delegates from 45 Countries.
Multiple activities across art categories in Malaysia, Philippines, USA, India, Nepal
Revival and structuring of various NDC’s leads to many older councils and newer ones taking their seats in the General Assembly.
XV IDC Session & General Assembly hosted in Lagos, Nigeria in 2025.
A new visual language with a change in the visual persona of the IDC has taken place in 2025.
